De-dollarization is the term being used to describe what is now happening to the USD (US dollar). Saudi Arabia made the momentous decision to start selling its oil in other currencies – like the Chinese renminbi or yuan. This has changed the petrodollar system of 50 years that was set up by Kissinger in the 1970s, during which it has been virtually impossible for a country to function without USD reserves.
