Church records state that a character called Cerinthus rewrote the prophecies of the famous seer and priestess Herophile, whose work was called the Sybelline Oracles. Her clairvoyance was so accurate that for at least the first 4 centuries CE, the Oracles were held to be the highest religious authority in the Roman Empire.
