Nakam was a group of Jewish militants or terrorists who sought revenge against the Nazis after World War II. The word "Nakam" means avengers. Their first plan (Plan A) was to poison the water supply of 5 German cities: Hamburg, Nuremberg, Frankfurt, Weimar and Munich. Their fallback plan (Plan B) was to poison Nazi prisoners of war. In mid-1945, the Nakam avengers, disguised as engineers, infiltrated the waterworks of each target city, studying how the water supply was pumped into German homes. Renowned Jewish chemist Chaim Weizmann, who would later become Israel's first president, managed to procure a poison that was lethal in milligrams. Learn what happened.
