Plans are well underway in 100+ nations to transition away from cash towards government-controlled, digital money known as Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs). This will be programmable money which you can only spend on certain items, spelling less freedom for you. This is being rolled out by offering people food subsidies if they use CBDCs rather than cash. Eventually the plan is to introduce a Universal Basic Income (UBI) and to connect a citizen's digital money with their digital ID and vaccine passport. If it gets to this point, the ruling class will be able to stop anyone from transacting – excluding people entirely from the economy.
