Gerald Kaufman is a Jewish MP (Member of Parliament) in the UK. However, being Jewish has not blinded him to Israel's crimes. He has compared the actions of Israeli troops in Gaza to the Nazis who forced his family to flee Poland. He has pointed out that Israel was born out of Jewish terrorism and how the father of former Israeli Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni was a terrorist. He has opposed new "nationality" (apartheid) laws in Israel which try to define the country as both a "Jewish and democratic" state. Saddened by the slaughter of Palestinians, the Jewish Kaufman said, "You cannot appeal to the Israelis’ better nature, because they do not have one."
