Dr. J. Allen Hynek was hired by the US Air Force as part of Project Blue Book (the investigation into UFOs, and the subsequent coverup). He was also an adviser for Steven Spielberg's, "Close Encounters of the Third Kind". He was hired to be skeptical and to debunk real UFO sightings by claiming they were "swamp gas" or "weather balloons". However, secretly, he was a UFO experiencer.
