Genetics are a mere blueprint; they have no effect on behavior, which is caused by stimulus and response. The behavior of the cell or a complex organism (like us) is not programmed; it is continually adjusting to the signals of the environment. Beliefs switch on genes, and so it is perception that controls genes and behavior. The science now confirms it: what you believe becomes what you perceive and experience.
